This pattern was originally for a pillow top. To make a quilt sew only the center blocks omitting the border.

Use border for the sashing between blocks.

The following instructions will be with the colors shown in diagrams above. Right click on diagram and from

menu save picture as, then save where you can find and print for later use. Highlight the instructions, copy then

paste them in your favorite word processing program for printing.

Size: 15 1/2" square.

Materials: 1/2 yard Red #4, 1/4 yard each White and White Print, scraps of Red #2.

Directions: From White cut 4 each C, F, and M. From White Print, cut 4 G. From Red #2, cut 4 M. From

Red #4, cut 8G.

Arrange patches as shown in diagram. First join patches to form square unit heavily outlined; repeat for 3

more square units. Join square units to form center square. Create 4 rectangular units as heavily outlined.

Join two to opposite sides of center square. sew F patches to sides of two remaining rectangular units. Refer

to diagram and join to form center block, which should measure 11 1/2" inside seam allownces. From White

Print, cut 4 border rectangles 1 7/8" X 11 1/2"; from Red #2 cut 4 corner patches 1 7/8" square (H). Stitch

two border strips to opposite sides of block. Stitch an H patch to ends of remaining border strips, then sew

to top and bottom of block. You will need to add a seam allowance to border rectangles, template H for

corner squares.

 

The following template patterns do not have seam allowance added. You will need to add them.
